Bloom

After quite a few days of being cut off from everyone & everything, I'm back from my mini vacation! I spent three nights of last week out at Bodega Bay with two of my closest friends and had such a blast. Our campsite was right on the beach, it was perfect! After setting up our tent the first day, we dropped everything & headed out to lounge on the beach. The whole trip was phenomenal: hiking, climbing rocks, tide pooling, sleeping in the sand, chasing waves, flower picking, sitting round the fire, story telling, wine sipping and star gazing filled each day, which made time fly by. Even though the trip was short lived, I enjoyed every moment & am so glad I was able to take a few days to relax and reanalyze life. Being surrounded by nature is one of my favorite things, so I felt totally at home while layered up in sweaters, scarves and extra socks chatting under the stars till the late hours of the night.
Below is an outfit post totally unrelated to my camping trip. These floral jeans are so damn rad, and even better than I expected them to be! For future wearing I plan on pairing them with even more floral (ohh yeaah) for a crazy eclectic/overwhelmingly loud look. The more people I can blind, the better.
I titled this post after Beach House's newest album, Bloom. If you enjoy dreamy, hypnotic music then I'd suggest taking a listen! I've had it on repeat ever since it came out earlier this year; it's by far one of my favorite albums I've listened to this summer.

felt laptop case: c.o. koshka / gold watch: michael kors / bracelets: asos, h&m / rings: vintage, h&m, jewelmint
How sick is this felt laptop case? It was gifted to me by Koshka awhile back, and I've been using it to lug my giant MacBook around school ever since. I love that it's made out of a single piece of felt and made in Japan! The quality is insane, and I'm so glad I was able to find a stylish yet durable laptop case.

Happy Monday everyone!

Phoned

As all of you know, my summer has been packed full of plans thus far. If you want to stay updated with what I'm doing while not blogging, then feel free to take a gander at my instagram feed!
I also wanted to let you know that I'll be out of town for the next few days! A few of my friends and I are going camping out at Bodega Bay, sans computer and cell reception. I'll update all of you once I'm back to civilization. Ciao for now!

Burnished

Morning everyone! I've totally neglected all of you once again, sorry about that. I was planning on posting this outfit a few days ago, but I've been nurturing a terrible sunburn which has been causing me loads and loads of pain. I currently have the silliest tan lines (or should I say burn lines) all over me as a result from the hiking gear I donned the day I was cooked in the sun. All in all though, the burn was definitely worth it. I spent a beautiful day hiking all around Angel Island and ended the trip with a two hour long snooze on the beach. All the hiking I've been doing this summer has been stellar; I've gotten the chance to fully enjoy the beauty of California and it's given me the opportunity to spend a lot more time with my closest friends, something I'm unable to do during the school year. Next week I'm actually going camping, so here's to summers spent with friends, swimming in the ocean, bonfires on the beach, sleeping under the stars and of course, wearing loads of sunblock!
Just looking at how much clothing I'm wearing here makes me cringe...this past week hasn't gone below 80 degrees, so sweaters of any kind are painful to imagine wearing right now.
I have at least 15 pair of sunglasses, but ever since I've gotten these Ray Ban "meteor" I don't want to wear anything else.

Some close ups of my new Rachel Comey shoes. Aren't they rad? I'm so enamored with how the burnished base gave an ombre like effect...these shoes have already become a staple in my wardrobe. The best part is that I bought them off of eBay for a fraction of the retail price! Oh, and they're extremely comfortable. So it's basically a win win.

Honey & Lemon

I finally have the chance to show all of you my new blouse and collar necklace from Romwe! The sheer yellow & floral of this top work together so well, I can already see myself wearing it all through the summer. As for the collar, I'm in love. I don't know if I'll ever be able to take it off...it's just too perfect for life. After getting this piece, I'm left craving even more faux collars!

These photos are from a few weeks back when I was on the verge of collapse due to the stress and exhaustion I endured because of finals work, thus the tired/frazzled face.
My favorite part about this piece is the rose detailing in the very center; it's so eclectic and meshes with my style perfectly!
I realize that I haven't written about anything other than my clothing lately, which is totally lame! While I do love showcasing my personal style, I love letting all of you know what's actually going on in my current life. I'm going to try and do exactly that from now on.
This past week has been so wonderful in so many different ways. New friendships have bloomed, adventures have begun and I'm excited to experience a truly memorable summer. I've spent almost every day off work outdoors lounging at the beach, hiking through the hills of my county, skimming the farmers market or exploring the streets of San Francisco. My favorite activity so far has been hiking! I'm a nature fanatic, so being able to trek out and enjoy the wilderness has been great. I've hiked about 25 miles this past week and I already have plans to go out next week to another trail. I'll post some photos from my hikes on here when I get the chance, the spots I've been trekking are absolutely beautiful.
I hope all of you have a phenomenal weekend, thank you for reading!

Persian Prints

These rad shorts were gifted to me from Koshka. The earthy colors and loud print grabbed my attention right away and I knew I needed them in my wardrobe. So, here they are! To balance out the print, I decided to pair the shorts with simple solid pieces, though I used lots of bright jewelry to provide more of an eclectic feeling.
Thankfully I have the day off today, which I've spent indoors reading, drinking coffee and cuddling with my sweet honeychild Jack. The rain is beating against my window (wait, it's June? Oh. Okay.) while I'm bundled in tons of blankets, candles burning illuminating my room. I couldn't have had a better day of relaxation.
sweater: vintage / shorts: mink pink c.o. koshka / loafers: vintage
rings: h&m / watch: la mer / gold bracelet: j.crew / red friendship bracelet: asos / others: h&m
My watch collection has been growing these past few months, bringing me up to three lovely pieces. This La Mer is the newest of the few, which I'm really excited to wear all throughout the summer. I love the combination of the wrap and bright yellow!
I hope all of you are doing well! I'm receding back under my covers for now, as I hiked almost 11 miles the other day, which has left me on the verge of tears due to seriously sore muscles. I'll be hiking quite a bit tomorrow as well, so I'm definitely in need of some downtime!

I'm back!

Oh. My. Goodness. Life has been so overwhelming these past few weeks, I can't even begin to describe it! My little hiatus is a result of so many things which are all beginning to calm down, thankfully. I do still have a very large work load, though in general I'm definitely in a better headspace than I was a few weeks back. The fact that it's FINALLY summer is relieving as well. There are so many plans for beach days, hikes, camping and road trips. I'm so stoked for the next few months, I know they're going to be absolutely amazing. You can consider this the end of my blogging break, thanks for patiently waiting for new posts everyone!
In other news, I totally scored a 4.0 for spring semester! My hard work and hair ripping definitely paid off.
This outfit is a lot more "safe" then I'm used to, though the bright pops of color help to balance out the simpleness.

Happy June 1st everyone! I hope all of you have a phenomenal day.
