Hello, social life

Hey all! School is finally over for the semester! All of my hard work and anti-social behavior has payed off. Of course, there was a lot of procrastination in the mix as well, though that's something my short attention span will always have.
I'm so excited for the warm weather (though while I type this, there is an ominous cloud slowly passing overhead, along with some sprinkles of rain) that will (hopefully) be embracing my life this summer. Though I still have my job waiting for me, I'm going to take full advantage of my days off.
On another note, I apologize for my lack in posts! As I said, I have been cramming for all of my finals, and sacrificing my friends and anything to do with blogging is the result of said cramming/procrastination.

Here is a very, very simple look I had put together for the last day of classes. Something comfortable that I could study in, all the while being loose enough for me to flail in anxiety before my tests.

cardigan: h&m, simple tee: gap, cutoff levi's: gift/urban renewal, belt: secondhand,
tights: forever21, loafers: secondhand, chunky ring: h&m, sunglasses: ray-ban

Expect to see more posts soon, since I'm now able to go out and enjoy the next few months. Hope everyone is well, and wishing you a wonderful day!

Revelations

School is beyond stressful at this point, though I've decided to take a quick break to share some inspiration photographs I've stumbled upon throughout the week.

I hope that everyone is having a lovely week,  and I promise I will get back to posting photographs once school is out next week and this sporadic california rain is gone!

Spring Casual

scarf (wrapped as a turban): h&m // sunglasses: ray ban // sheer blouse, cardigan and socks: gap // vintage cutoff shorts: levi's // leather belt: dolce&gabbana // t-strap flats: urban outfitters // chunky silver ring: h&m // blue stone ring: vintage, grandmother

Filled with tension from all of my finals deadlines, today will consist of massive amounts of homework, essay writing and arm flailing. Possibly some tears of frustration added into the mix, and to top it all off, work. Hope everyones day is less stressful than mine!

Chiffon and Lace

As I said in my last post, I have been obsessing over sheer pieces lately. These fabrics portray my idea of a spring/summer look perfectly! In this outfit, I decided to put together a two pieced sheer look, along with lace to accent the femininity of the chiffon fabrics. This outfit would have gone perfectly with my platformed wooden heels, alas it was a long school day filled with far too much walking; my poor feet would not have been able to handle the glory of heels. Instead, I dressed up my t-strap flats, which I've been wearing with everything as of late. That being said, sorry for the lack of shoe versatility, but most of my photos are taken during school hours or days when I'm on my feet for extended periods of time.

The Dooney & Bourke purse I have here is my most recent d&b purchase, snagged for a deal at a rummage sale.

Lately I have been so exhausted, with finals just around the corner I am on homework overload. Sorry for the absence of any sort of "depth" in my writing, once school is out for the summer (yay!), my philosophical juices will start flowing once again.

PS: All photos are taken on my camera by my lovely friend Kaddie. Check out her writing over at her blog, Spiraled Staircase, she's great at translating her emotions onto a piece of paper, or in this case, the internet.

Enjoy the beautiful day everyone, I know I will!

Sheer addiction

This weekend was phenomenal. For once, I didn't have work on Saturday or Sunday! My weekend consisted of relaxation, Indian food, garage sales, Cafe Gratitude and spending time with a close friend. There was a bit of homework thrown in as well, though two days off for the first time in weeks was much needed, so studying wasn't much of a problem.
I spent Sunday with my friend, Travis. We received tickets to a private event, allowing us to visit modern architectural homes that have been built throughout Marin. The whole time I could not stop dreaming about how I will (hopefully) eventually own a home just as lovely, later on in life.

When I woke up on Sunday, the sun was breaking through my curtains, the distant sound of birds chirping and windchimes singing. I knew that the weather would be perfect, calling for light clothing and a floppy hat to block the sun. I have been obsessing over all types of sheer clothing as of late: laces, chiffons, thin silks, all types of clothing that go so well with the recent change in weather. A new addition to my wardrobe, this Louis Vuitton hangbag was a steal! I found the vintage purse at a rummage sale, paying only four dollars to add it into my purse collection. At the rummage sale, I was also able to pick up a vintage all black Dooney & Bourke, bringing my d&b count up to about six, possibly seven. To say that I am a vintage purse fanatic would be an understatement.

hat: vintage, my mothers // lace crop top: h&m // double-breasted cardigan: american apparel // Louis Vuitton handbag: vintage, rummage sale // chiffon maxi skirt: american apparel // braided sandals: vintage

After visiting the lavish homes, we stopped to eat at Cafe Gratitude. Cafe Gratitude is an all vegan, mostly raw restaurant. The names of all the dishes are quite silly, for example, the dish I ordered was called "I am fortified". My meal consisted of lightly cooked veggies, sprouts and brown rice in a thai sauce. All of the food they serve is local and organic. If I could, I would eat at this restaurant every day of my life, stuffing my face with vegan goodies. I am a complete foodie, and their vegan cheeses are so, so amazing.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Monday! Also, take my comments about sheer clothing as a warning, seeing as my next outfit update with most likely consist of at least one, possibly two, sheer pieces.
