Hey hey! I've teamed up with my sponsor Koshka to give all of you the chance to win a gorgeous Mink Pink dress. Rad stuff, right? Below is a sweet picture of said dress.
I love the lace detailing and draping, as it works so well with the black color and overall cut. Styling wise, I imagine this dress working really well with a black acid wash vest, some sick studded boots and loads of silver jewelry. That's just one possibility, but there are dozens of ways you could work this piece into your wardrobe!
So, onto the giveaway rules/instructions:
1. Head on over to Koshka's site and sign up for e-mail updates in the bottom right corner.
2. Using the same e-mail, comment on this post and tell me how you would style the Mink Pink "faithful" dress!
3. Winners will be chosen based upon the way the dress is styled, so feel free to get wild with it. Polyvore sets, Pinterest boards and the like are totally acceptable as entries! (You don't have to create a visual set, a regular text comment is totally acceptable as well)
Contest applies to US residents only (sorry!). Winners will be announced on Sunday, July 15th. Good luck everyone!

ReplyDeleteI have emailed you my collage on how I would style the Faithful dress!
With a touch of Coachella and dark gypsy magic, I have styled this dress to really bring out its faithfulness to festival style. While the majority of festival style tends to be on the brighter and floatier side, with floral hair garlands and lace, this dress really makes me want to style it in a way that is completely opposite from the typical. With its bell-sleeves reminiscent of the '70s, it's obvious that Lennon sunnies and a headpiece are required accessories. Adding a unique silver accents, from the spikes on a cross-body bag, to a unique large triangle pendant necklace, to the start-shaped studs on the platform booties, and the hardware on the headpiece and sunglasses, allows to really bring out that mystery and allure that the dress offers.
great giveaway!

Since the dress gives off a boho vibe, I would style it with black round circle sunnies, a dark red floral crown, wooden clogs, and a basket woven bag for a dark bohemian look. so basically styling wise I was going for a bohemian x witchy look.
I also created a collage which I am still working on based on the above description. I hope its okay to email it to you? since I am doing it on photoshop and not polyvore.

I would also add black polkadot tights to the outfit to support the dress's diaphanous flow and a black leather studded motorcylce jacket to make clear it means serious business and would like to be taken accordingly.

ReplyDeleteHey there Danielle!
ReplyDeleteThank you soo much for having this giveaway! That Mink Pink Faithful dress is stunning. I absolutely adore the delicate lace detail as well as the slightly winged sleeves.
Here is the Polyvore set I created to style this dress: http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=52940414.
The dress has a very lovely boho vibe that would be fun to emphasize but it also has a lot of potential. I've decided to nickname this dress Vanessa, after the Gossip Girl (TV) character. She has a fun eclectic style that's super vibrant and colorful but she's also capable of trying on new looks for new occasions.
In my Polyvore set, I tried to showcase just two of the many looks that Vanessa is capable of trying on.
Casual:
On nice summer days, the ones where the sun is shining and there's just a little bit of a breeze, Vanessa keeps things casual and happy. She runs her fingers through her hair before throwing it back into a simple knotted ponytail thing, smears on a little bit of Chapstick for a nice rosy color, and heads out the door to run some errands and enjoy the weather. Sometimes, Vanessa slips on a little bikini and simple sandals to absorb some UV rays at the beach. Other times, Vanessa throws on a fun pair of bright Converse and grabs a whimsical tote bag (like this mustache one!) to run some errands with. No matter what, Vanessa always makes sure to throw on a pair of her favorite red heart sunnies. She makes sure to always protect her eyes while also bringing a smile to everyone she passes on the street.
Dressy:
When Vanessa goes out with her friends or heads to a date, she likes to dress up a little more. Sometimes, she even dresses up just for the heck of it! Who says dressing up is for a special occasion only?
On the days when she dresses up and wants to look a little fancier, Vanessa draws inspiration from Gossip Girl characters Blair and Serena. Instead of falling back on her usual boho cutesy vibe, Vanessa relies on preppiness, a schoolgirl vibe, and a hint of sexiness to make her feel beautiful. Depending on how she's feeling that day, Vanessa can choose to throw her hair up (a la Brigette Bardot) or choose to leave it in sexy waves all around her. Regardless of how her hair is styled that day, Vanessa will throw on a silk scarf such as this blue, red, and white one from Marc Jacobs. Adding a hint of nautical flair, the scarf provides color to contrast with the black laciness of Vanessa and also provides s ground from which the rest of the outfit can be built. If the scarf feels like a little too much that day, Vanessa can take it off and tie it around her cute vintage Coach shoulder bag. Having the little bag over the shoulders allows Vanessa to twirl around and show off her gorgeous sleeve details. In addition to the cute bag, Vanessa will have on a pair of colored tights that works with the colors of her scarf. In this case, the tights will be a fun blue that perks up Vanessa's day while also keeping her legs warm. On her feet, Vanessa will either have a pair of funky flats or a pair of elegant and delicate maryjane pumps. Either way, Vanessa will add a touch of girliness to her outfit. To complete a great look, Vanessa tosses on some elegant red lipstick to feel like a lady and a pair of classic sunglasses such as Rayban Clubmasters. At the end of the day, Vanessa has a look that is girly, fun, sweet, and also her inherent boho.
If you got tired of reading all that, I hope you'll understand what I was trying to convey in my Polyvore set. Though this dress is naturally boho and whimsical, it can also be much more. It can be casual, cute, preppy, girly, and all things in between!
Hopefully you got that feeling from my superduper long descriptions :)
Best of luck to everyone who enters this giveaway!

What an awesome giveaway!!! To me, this dress sings boho. So you'd suspect that boho would be the way to go, right? Wrong. I like to surprise people with a styling. I'd style this like a classy evening gown--a pair of tall, red pumps, a locket, and some gold/crystal bangles and assorted "arm party" additions. As for the hair, it would be swept up elegantly. A swipe of red on the lips and some glittery gold earrings and voila, the dress is styled. Who likes fitting in, anyway? :)
